Mismanagement And Poor Governance Has Led Ghana To IMF Again - Dr Nduom

Leader and Founder of the Progressive Peoples Party (PPP), Dr.Paa Kwesi Nduom has expressed worry about the countrys return to IMF to seek financial assistance; a situation he attributes to mismanagement and poor governance by the Mahama-led administration. As a HIPC country, all debts were cleared, so what went wrong for the country to run to IMF? All is due to the lack of political discipline and will to stop the spending and borrowing spree. When there is no money, we should not be overspending. Another worrying situation is whereby governments uses state resources to run their campaign. Any political party which comes to power should have its own resources to run its campaigns during elections. If we are able to do this as a country, we will save enough money to solve a lot of the countrys economic challenges he said during an exclusive interview with Hello FM. Education Dr Nduom further commented on the Free Compulsory Universal Basic Education (FCUBE) which according to him, has been the bane of the countrys education; even though it has received little or no attention. In the U.S which is far developed, Education is free up to the High School Level (SHS); so why cant we as a developing country do same .The most painful aspect is where the Compulsory aspect of the FCUBE has been ignored. The compulsory aspect should be carefully implemented by every government he noted on the same platform. Election Of MMDCES The founder of PPP also commented on the nomination of MMDCEs. For comprehensive developmental projects to be executed in every region of the country, residents should be made to elect their own MMDCES. When people are made to elect their own MMDCES, they will be able to boot them out of office if they fail to perform.
