The Madina Magistrate court, presided over by Mr Jojo Amoah Hagan, has fined Paul Pobi, a houseboy, GH300 or in default serve six months in prison for stealing. He was also made to sign a bond to be of good behaviour for six months with two sureties or in default serve an additional two months in prison. According to the prosecutor, District Superintendent of Police Patience Mario, the complainant, Mr Maxwel Boateng, a Pastor, resided at a suburb of Accra called Ghana Flag and Pobi was his house-help. She said Mr Boateng left the house in the care of Pobi and travelled to Takoradi for a programme but on his return on July 26, 2014, he detected that two of his Ipads and a phone were missing from the house and Pobis whereabout was unknown. The prosecutor further said a complaint was immediately made to the police and Pobi was arrested at his hideout in Cape Coast. She said upon interrogation, Pobi admitted stealing the items which he claimed had been given to someone at Akim Oda. She said Pobi later led the police to where the stolen items were kept and they were retrieved.
