Black Maidens star striker Jane Akalachiba Ayieyam has said Ghana’s captain Asamoah Gyan is her role model. The 17-year-old Police Ladies striker and current SWAG female footballer of the year said she has been watching a lot of video clips of the Al Ain forward to enhance her skills. “I watch a lot of players in my position, but Asamoah Gyan is a great role model. He has been the heartbeat of the Black Stars for years,” Ayieyam told Goal Ghana. “He has also been the standout performer for his club Al Ain as well. He is a great role model for me. He was someone I looked up to when I was younger. The main reason why I wear the number three jersey.” Ayieyam added: “He is Ghana’s all-time top scorer and the captain of the team and for any young striker he is someone to base your game on and try to be like him.”
