I AM dedicated to giving you insightful tips towards your wellness and success. You might have heard the saying: �Health is wealth.� Most of us do not appreciate our good health until we are down with sickness. Staying healthy should receive serious consideration if you want to achieve success and live your dream life. I don�t know how you can become happy and achieve your goals when you�re down with ill health. Maintaining good health is a prerequisite for achieving success, peace, happiness and youthful vitality. Drink clean and pure water As the saying goes, water is life. Water is necessary for the body to function properly. Most of the water you drink is expelled in urine and through pores and bowel. Drinking contaminated water will give sickness. Your drinking water should be clean. Keep it in clean containers and ensure that it is protected from dust and other particles. If water remains in a polytank for a long time bacteria can grow in it. It is recommended that you undertake periodic cleaning of your polytank at least 2 to 3 times in a year. Eat vegetables Your body needs vitamins and minerals to function properly. These are found in the vegetables we eat. Vegetables are also good sources of fibre that aids digestion. Most of the vegetables we eat in Ghana are heavily laden with contaminants mostly from the application of pesticides and other chemical products. The chemicals in food erode the testosterone hormone making your mojo dull and inactive. It is a leading cause of impotence in men. Some vegetable farmers are not helping as they use water from drains to irrigate the vegetable farms. They should refrain from this bad practice as their vegetables could be the source of the many illnesses we are experiencing in the country. Exercise your body. You need to exercise your body daily to maintain mental alertness and physical greatness. Walking is good exercise. Aerobics as we sometimes watch on TV are good. Exercise helps to improve circulation thereby leading to the proper functioning of body organs. Practicing yoga does not only help in your spiritual development, it helps the body eliminate toxins and germs. This leads to a better quality of life. Stay away from drugs The body is a child of nature and does not require chemicalized drugs for healing. Drugs may help you to get healed but often also leave you with other health problems. Chemicalised drugs can incapacitate your mind in some cases and destroy body organs. Some can bring about dependence and addiction. It is strongly suggested you rely more on natural remedies for your healing. Quit smoking Smoking is a bad habit that must be avoided. It reduces the ability of the blood vessels to distribute oxygenated blood to your body organs. Smoking does not only waste your money, it contributes to the deterioration of certain organs notably the lungs. Cigarette smoking can also lead to respiratory diseases. Learn to quit smoking as it is not a helpful habit. Maintain personal hygiene To ward off disease, wash yourself regularly and also brush your teeth at least 2 times daily in the morning and after your supper or before going to bed. Regular hand washing is essential before eating and after. Have regular sex Regular sex is recommended for mental and physical health. After sex, how do you normally feel? Your guess is as good as mine. Don�t behave as if you are a piece of stone without feelings. The hormones are pouring into your system. I cannot explain but I know that regular sex helps to produce beautiful children. I guess it may be due to the sperms being fresh as a result of regular sex. Take vitamin supplements. As a result of ignorance or poverty some people are not eating well. They eat food that lacks essential nutrients for proper body functioning. It is therefore prudent to take food supplements that are enriched with vitamins and minerals. Zinc is useful in promoting pregnancy. Iodine is necessary for thyroid function. Taking multivitamin will help you maintain radiant health. It is not advisable to add maggi to your food. Maggi contains monosodium glutamate which is harmful to health. Use dawadawa instead. Dawadawa is produced from the African bean plant and is packed with protein and other vitamins essential for good health. Get enough sleep and relaxation The human body needs enough rest and relaxation. Due to the hustle and bustle of life, we are constantly assailed by stressors which can seriously impair our good health. Have enough sleep and make a conscious effort to create happiness for yourself. Take breakfast You need energy to start the business of the day. Eat good breakfast that will help the body rejuvenate. Slices of bread and oats or porridge that is made from millet will do.In line with current policy to encourage Ghanaians to eat what we grow and grow what we eat, I suggest you take porridge (koko) and �kosi� made from beans for your breakfast. Drink Green Tea There is a Chinese proverb that underscores the importance of tea when it says, �Better to be deprived of food for three days, than tea for one.� Tea contains antioxidants your body needs to fight disease and keep you healthy. Tea has many health benefits: helps digestion, stomach, intestinal, liver and kidney health, reduces cholesterol, controls high blood pressure, promotes immunity of the body, increases energy, eliminates toxins, increase sexual drive, nourishes brain and skin, fights aging and cancers among others. In conclusion, health is wealth. Eat and drink well for health, wellness and prosperity.
