The Embassy of Japan is working with the Japan Foundation to bring Japanese family drama series on the Ghanaian television to expand the mutual relationship between the two countries. Mr Kaoru Yoshimura, Ambassador of Japan to Ghana said their outfits are confident that Ghanaians will love the television series to be staged in the country just as Ghanaians loved the �Oshin� series. The Ambassador made the remarks on Friday at the launch of Japan week 2014 in Accra under the theme �Bringing Japan Close to You�. The Japan Week is an annual programme celebrated to promote Japanese culture, cuisine and tourism. He said as part of the celebration, there will be Ghana Yosakoi festival on Saturday Nov, 8 at the Mensvic Grand Hotel at 1300 hours with Japanese cultural activities like song performances, judo, karate demonstration and food bazaar. The Ambassador said the Ghana Karate-Do Association and the Ghana Judo Association with support from the Embassy of Japan will organize Karate Championship on Nov 8 to 9 at the Tennis Court of the Accra Sports Stadium and the Judo Championship will take place on Nov 9 at the Sports hall of the stadium. The Embassy of Japan showed two movies, the first movie was titled �Children Who Chased Lost Voices�, an animation and the second movies �Swing Girls�, a comedy drama which tells about an usual but funny high school girl�s life in a countryside of Japan. � It is my earnest hope that the celebration will bring the peoples of Japan and Ghana closer together and further deepen the already cordial relations between the two countries,� he added.
