Ghana To Have Only Two Slots For 2014/15 CAF Club Competitions

Ghana will have only TWO slots for the 2014/15 CAF Inter-club competitions, a close source at CAF has exclusively revealed to Ghanasportsonline.com. The Ghana Football Association sent letters to four clubs this week notifying them to confirm their particpation in the upcoming competitions but according to the CAF rankings which will be released in December this year, Ghana has dropped out of the top 12 countries who have four automatic slots. Ghana will thus make do with a slot for the CAF Champions League and the other for the Confederations Cup. The source says within the last ranking period of five years, Ghana has scored a point only in the 2012 edition. It goes on to say "the CAF ranking doesn't lie and nobody can alter it for anybody or offer any favours, because the ranking for now Ghana is number 14 (you need to be in top 12)". "Ghana is still ranked very low, from what I have on my desk (at CAF), Ghana is not in the top 12 for four spots. the country will get one champions league and one confederations cup", The source confirmed.
