Injury Blow For Ghana As Christian Atsu Limps Off In Europa League Match

Ghana winger Christian Atsu could not last the entire game for Everton in their Europa League fixture with Kuban Krosnadar as he suffered an injury and was taken off in their 0-1 loss at home. The 22-year-old who was eager to impress was handed a starting role by his manager Roberto Martinez but failed to complete the game after he was taken off due to an injury he sustained as early as the 10th minute. It was Atsu�s second start for Everton since joining on-loan from Chelsea but had to make way following his injury. The former FC Porto was however substituted by English youngster Kieran Dowell. His injury serves as a blow for Ghana ahead of the 2015 African Cup of Nations in Equatorial Guinea as he remains one of the key members of the Black Stars squad. Atsu has been criticized for his lack of playing time at Everton since his move from Chelsea in August this year.
