Mr Johnson Asiedu-Nketiah, General-Secretary of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), has predicted that the party will win landslide in the 2016 elections, but it needs to maintain the current executives to make it a reality. Mr Asiedu-Nketiah said, the party needs hard work, dedicated, honest and focused leaders who can face the opposition New Patriotic Party(NPP) boot for boot, to defeat them again in the next elections. Mr Asiedu-Nketiah made the prediction when he addressed party delegates in Winneba, drawn from Gomoa Central, Gomoa East, Awutu Senya East , Awutu Senya, Agona East and West , Gomoa West and Ekumfi Constituencies to solicit their votes. He warned supporters of the party going round campaigning against the current national executives, to stop the practice, since it will not help the party�s fortunes . According to Mr Asiedu-Nketiah, the current leaders of NDC have declared their intention to continue working for the party, and called on the delegates to vote for them in the upcoming national delegates conference slated for Kumasi . The General-Secretary said even though some leading members broke away during the 2008 and 2012 elections, he together with other leaders fought hard to help the party to win power in 2008 and 2012. Mr Aseidu-Nketiah, therefore, urged the delegates to vote for dedicated, loyal and trusted aspirants in Kumasi on Saturday, to enable them continue to work for NDC in the next four years. He warned the delegates that any attempt to change the current executives could affect the fortunes of the party in the next elections. The General-Secretary stated that he would lead the party to win again, but he would need the sitting executives to be maintained, to assist him to continue with the good works. On the court actions taken by some members of the party, Mr Asiedu-Nketiah said efforts are being made to settle them amicably. He said the people who took the party to court have not faulted, but it would rather allow internal democracy thrive in the NDC. Mr Yaw Boateng Gyan, National Organizer, urged the delegates to vote for him, since he has offered himself to serve the party in the next four years. He stated that he was not too old to lead the party as its National Organizer, as some perceive, and are going round campaigning against him, adding that two heads are better one, and asked delegates to vote for them. Mr Boateng Gyan said the NDC will win the elections, but the delegates must vote for people with credibility who can work for the interest of the party and not for their parochial interests.
