Money Not Our Focus�Gyan Declares

Ghana captain Asamoah Gyan has indicated that the Black stars are going into the Equatorial Guinea championship with the sole aim of proving a point after years of heartbreak. He said they had pledged to make financial consideration a secondary matter in this month�s continental soccer festival. Before the team left for Spain last Sunday, Gyan told the media that the financial problem that rocked their Brazil World Cup campaign had become a thing of the past; and that all financial issues had been resolved. Gyan pointed out that the Equatorial Guinea challenge offers them an opportunity to prove a point, taking into account the high expectations of Ghanaians, coupled with the fact that they have played in the championship for over 30 years with nothing to show for it. �We are very happy everything has been resolved. We are not thinking about money issues now. What we are thinking about now is the Nations Cup. We are focused because expectations are high. �We want people to know that we are not playing for money, but for the love of the people of Ghana and because we are Ghanaians.
