Support Female Candidates To Enter Assemblies

Ms Evelyn Korang, Eastern Regional Women Organizer of the National Democratic Congress(NDC), has urged women organizers of the party at the constituency and branch levels, to support women who are contesting the forthcoming District Assembly Elections. This, she said, will enable more women to be part of the decision-making process at the various District Assemblies in the country. She explained that it is time that women have a say at the highest level of society on issues that affect them. Ms Korang was speaking at a thanks-giving service and appreciation and recognition reception of women organizers of the 107 branches of the NDC in the Akropong Constituency organized by the newly-elected Akropong Constituency Women Organizer of the party, Ms Elizabeth Afrey at Kwamoso in the Akuapem North Municipality. In a welcome address, Ms Afreh thanked women organizers of the party at the various branches of the constituency, for their votes, and called for unity in the party. She appealed to the women organizers to rise to the occasion, and be committed to the responsibilities that they have accepted to do for the party at their branches. Ms Afreh urged them to start telling the electorate about the vision of the President, and plans that had been put in place under the 2015 national budget, to achieve that vision. Alhaji Salifu Fuseini, Acting Constituency Chairman, who deputised for the Chairman for the function, urged women organizers of the party in the constituency to target floating voters in their campaign, to win more supporters for the party.
