A father of three, Akwasi Boateng, who resides in Lomnava in the Nii Okaiman West District of the Greater Accra region, has assaulted his seven (7) year-old-boy over 50 pesewas. The horrific incident, which occurred yesterday at about 2:46 P.M., saw the heartless father beat his son mercilessly with blood oozing from the boy�s head amid screaming and shouting. The incident attracted people from their homes including the child�s mother to the scene where they condemned the act of by Mr. Boateng. The crime of the innocent boy according to his father was that he (son) took his (father) last 50 pesewas without his consent to buy fire crackers. According to Mr. Boateng, he had wanted to use the money to buy gari to eat with his leftover stew. The mother of the boy who could not understand the behaviour of his son explained that her son�s conduct might have been the failure of his father to buy him Christmas gifts. �Akwasi Boateng had a lot of money and instead of him buying things for the home and the kids, he didn�t but rather went on drinking and shopping sprees with his friends,� the wife noted.
