Nana Addo Should Properly Campaign And Stop Relying On Bloated Voters Register Claim - Gen. Mosquito

General Secretary of the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC), Johnson Asiedu Nketiah has cautioned the NPP Presidential Candidate, Nana Akufo-Addo to desist from the use of lies about the voters register as his means of campaign ahead of the 2016 General elections. According to 'General Mosquito' as he is affectionately called, it is never true that the voters register is bloated. Speaking on Okay FMs Ade Akye Abia Morning Show, 'General Mosquito' said that the biometric registration cancelled the possibility of double registrations prior to the 2012 general elections; adding it was the same voters register that was used to elect the NPP Members of Parliament. The NDC Chief Scribe insisted that the Supreme Court ruling on the 2012 election petition never mentioned that the voters register was bloated as Nana Akufo-Addo and the NPPs Ashanti Regional Chairman, Bernard Antwi Boasiako (Chairman Wontumi) have been propagating to Ghanaians. He again said the allegation that over 50,000 names have been deleted from the voters register in the Ashanti Region are unfounded as 'Chairman Wontumi' could not ascertain his claim when he was asked to prove at the various polling stations in the region. To him, the court ruling that the NHIS card should no longer be used in the new registration cannot affect the voters register which all political parties accepted and benefited from it in 2012. He added that Nana Addo as a lawyer should have known the ruling on NHIS card usage is not applicable to past events. "If Ghanaians will rely on the lies of a flagbearer and a chairman about bloated voters register then the nation will not progress. "Forget about the person who is saying it and rather analyze the things they are saying whether it makes sense or not. The higher the person in politics makes his unfounded allegations, it becomes embarrassing for the country because such a person is looking forward to becoming the President of the country. They should do proper campaign and stop relying their campaign message on vague bloated voters register, he pooh-poohed.
