Redeem Campaign Promise On Amanfro Road

The Chief of Ngleshie Amanfro in the Ga South Municipality, Nii Kwashie Gborlor, has urged President John Dramani Mahama to redeem a campaign pledge he made in 2012 to have the Ngleshie Amanfro-Top Town road reconstructed. According to him, the President had promised on a tour of the municipality ahead of the 2012 elections to rebuild the road right from the Amanfro junction off the Kasoa-Mallam Highway to link the communities of Obom and Amasaman. Redeem pledge I am appealing to the President to redeem this pledge because the road becomes impassable during the rainy season, he said. He said even when the rainy season was over, the road, which then turned dusty, also posed a big problem. Nii Gborlor was speaking in an interview with the Daily Graphic in Accra. He said it was pertinent to include in the road construction, gutters and storm drains that would carry water away from the areas beyond Top Town and American Farm to facilitate smooth travel between Kasoa and Accra. Short period He said the town had expanded within a short period and, therefore, needed a motorable road to match its growth. Nii Gborlor said a good road network would step up commercial activities in the area and through that enable the people to contribute meaningfully to national development. He said his priority was to ensure that the Amanfro town would undergo massive development and that had led to the construction of an information and communications technology (ICT) centre. Instrumentality The Chief of Ngleshie said he had also worked for the construction of a police station near the Amanfro clinic. He further pledged to see to it that another police station would be built at Top Town. The move, he said, would bring the police close to the residents and enable them to deal with crime and other social vices that may affect the peaceful atmosphere in the community. Growth Nii Gborlor said he would always seek the welfare of the residents of Amanfro even as the community kept expanding. He said the traditional authority would do all within its power to enable residents to live in peace and comfort and go about their daily activities without trouble.
