Doomsayers Will Be Shamed - Tawiah Boateng

THE EASTERN regional chairman of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Bismark Tawiah Boateng has stated that doomsayers and detractors of the President Mahama led NDC government will bow their heads in shame before the 2016 general election. Mr. Boateng explained that the doomsayers, mainly detractors of the government, who always trumpet short term challenges as being borne out of incompetence of the government and create impressions as if nothing positive is happening in the country, will face reality before the 2016 election. He said in as much as detractors of the government always keep their fingers crossed for calamities to befall on the government in order to capitalize on for their cheap political points, the President is focused on building a Better Ghana which is envisaged to manifest fully before 2016. Mr. Boateng stated that trumpeting negative happenings in the government is a clear violation of allegiance to the country, hence such group of people must be rejected by the electorate in 2016. The regional chairman briefly touched on few infrastructural projects such as Kpong water Treatment Projects, ongoing construction of 200 Senior High Schools, Circle interchange in Accra, among many other projects ongoing across the country as evidence that the government is working to better the lot of Ghanaians. He stressed that government has taken pragmatic measures to solve the erratic power supply challenges facing the country. The regional chairman said this in an interview after a thanksgiving service held in Koforidua -Adweso Methodist church, by his better-half, Mrs. Christiana Tawiah Boateng who escaped fire disaster two months ago. He further explained that economic challenges facing the country were not created by the government, but due to weak economic fundamentals the nation has been riding on since independence. He, however, expressed optimism that measures put in place to cement the economic fundamentals of the country by President Mahama in both long and short term have started yielding results with the stabilization of the cedi, adding that with optimism Ghanaians will renew the mandate of the President in 2016 based on his performance. The Eastern regional minister, Antwi Bosiako Sekyere, called on Ghanaians to be grateful to God for the peaceful atmosphere the country is enjoying. He enjoined Christians to embrace and take part in the national sanitation day exercise in order to eradicate filth in the country. Other dignitaries present at the program were the deputy Eastern regional minister, Mavis Ama Frimpong, Mark Oliver Kevor, regional secretary of the NDC, friends and family of Mr & Mrs. Boateng.
