Jomoro NDC members ask to work harder

The Western Regional Chairman of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) , Mr Michael Aidoo has appealed to members to work extra harder for the party to maintain power in the 2016 general elections.

Mr Aidoo made the appeal when he addressed the Jomoro Constituency and Bonyere Zonal Executives at separate meetings at Bonyere near Half Assini.

The meetings form part of his two-day familiarization tour of the constituency.

According to him members of the Jomoro Constituency were not present at the Regional Congress that elected him due to their late election.

There was therefore the need for him to meet them after their election to formulate plans and policies to help the party win power, he said.

The Regional Chairman urged the members that with the constituency election finally over, they should bury their differences and pulled their resources together towards the achievement of the goal of the party.

The Regional Chairman urged members of the NDC to explain the policies and programs of the government to the people, especially those on development social interventions.

He said the margin that was between the NDC and NPP in the 2012 election was not large, an indication that calls for the NDC to work harder to win more votes for the party.

Mr Sylvester Nuomah Daddieh, Jomoro District Chief Executive, said the 2016 election will be a big fight for the NDC and NPP and therefore urged supporters of the party to close their ranks to win the election.

Mr Gideon Konibah, Jomoro Constituency Chairman, in his welcoming address, thanked the Regional Chairman for the visit.

He said with the election over, members of the party should come together as one body and campaign for the party to maintain power in 2016.
