The Deputy Minister of Education, Samuel Okudjeto Ablakwah says he is amazed at how passionate and romantic the General Secretary of the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC), Johnson Asiedu Nketiah is.

According to him, the fact that he was able to wear his wife’s winter coat shows how romantic he is.

General Mosquito as the NDC chief whip is popularly known courted controversy when he mistakenly wore his wife’s coat during a visit with President John Dramani Mahama in Germany.

The coat which has become very popular on various social media outlets, have been described by the opposition party; NPP as unfortunate and a sign that the ruling NDC government is confused.

Speaking to the issue, Mr Ablakwa who is also a Member of Parliament for North Tongu constituency congratulated his General Secretary for showing how much he loved his wife by wearing her winter coat.

“…it only reveals another side of the General which I didn’t know. I know he is a man of many accomplishments but I didn’t know he was also so romantic and that he buys the same colour of jacket for himself and his wife. As I said I think it is trivial; there are so many important highlights of this visit that we should focus on…we should spare the General Secretary” he told Suhiyini Alhassan on Radio Gold.

Meanwhile, Mr Ablakwa on the same platform also commended President Mahama for ‘making time’ to speak with the Ghanaian community in Germany.

According to him, “he (President Mahama) spent more time with the Ghanaian community than with his German counterpart. We are told that the last time a Ghanaian President interacted with the Ghanaian community in Germany was in 2002; in President Kufour’s era and so it’s been quite long and I think it is a welcome relief to Ghanaians in Germany…”
