NDC Shouldn't Think Black Stars Victory Will Cover Their Rot - Kwamena Duncan

The Central Regional Secretary of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Kwamena Duncan has warned the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC) not to glory in the Black Stars' victory over South Africa in the ongoing AFCON.

According to Kwamena Duncan, it appears the ruling party believes the Black Stars' heroic performances in the AFCON would save their face from the corruption and the unending economic crises confronting Ghanaians.

Speaking on Peace FM's "Kokrokoo", the NPP Regional Secretary noted that the NDC cannot hide under the cover of the AFCON to apparently blindfold the Ghanaian citizenry to the realities in the nation.

Though he hailed the Black Stars players for a resounding victory over their competitors in the tournament, Kwamena Duncan was quick to add that the NDC "shouldn’t sit there and think that this will ever come to cover any rot.”

To him, President John Mahama has turned his administration into "family and friends" and so, turns a blind eye on the "sins" perpetuated by his appointees.

Looking at the current state of the country, vis-à-vis the incessant power cuts; Kwamena Duncan bellowed that the President's appointees should not be blamed for the apparent failures of the Mahama administration.

“You cannot blame the Ministers. You blame the man who has the authority to appoint. That is his nature. That is his nature because his own Majority Leader has said that President Mahama doesn’t have what it takes to fight corruption and that his government is nothing more than family and friends.

“Once you’re a member of the family. You do no sin. You see no sin. You hear no sin. Once you’re a crony; that is it,” Kwamena Duncan fumed.
