Bugri Naabu's Tape To Be Investigated - NPP

The New Patriotic Party (NPP) has directed that investigation be carried out concerning allegations made by Bugri Naabu in an audio recording.

On the said tape, a voice purported to be that of the Northern Regional Chairman, Daniel Bugri Naabu claims the party’s national chairman Paul Afoko, General Secretary Kwabena Agyepong and others have already received V8 vehicles from President John Mahama’s brother, Ibrahim Mahama.

According to the tape, Mr Afoko and Kwabena Agyepong are being protected by National Security personnel.

However, the Northern Regional Chairman has subsequently denied making those comments.

At the Steering Committee meeting which was held on January 27, 2015 at the Party’s Headquarters, the NPP noted with deep concern, the content of the audio recording and the controversies it is generating.

In view of the gravity of the allegations made in the said audio recording and the subsequent denial by Mr. Bugri Naabu, the National Chairman, Mr Paul Afoko has directed that the audio recording be forwarded for forensic examination.

“A thorough investigation into this matter is justifiable, in order to ascertain the identity of the voice on the tape and the veracity of its contents. Hopefully, this will expose any mischief meant to undermine the unity of the party” a statement signed by Kwabena Agyepong indicated.
