AGI To Power Minister: We Immediate Solution; We Have Suffered For A Long Time

Following the press conference by the Minister of Power, Dr. Kwabena Donkor, the President of the Association of Ghana Industry, Mr. James Asare-Adjei has hinted that the industry will release a Communiqué to react to the press conference of the sector Minister.

The Minister of Power, Dr Kwabena Donkor in a press conference in Accra on Monday, has assured the country that the energy crisis that has bedeviled the country will end in a short time; insisting that his outfit was doing its best to improve power supply in the country.

But responding to the issue on Oman FM’s Morning Show, AGI Boss said it was the projection of the association that at the beginning of this year, 2015, there was going to be a way out to make the industrial works effective after they have suffered severely in the previous years by the erratic power supply.

He however was resolute that their constant discussion with the Power Minister and the assurances which prevailed was enough for them to wish that the solution to the erratic power supply would have been immediate; compelling the AGI to issue a Communiqué concerning how they welcome the press conference of the Power Minister.

Without direct admission that the communiqué has to do with the press conference of Dr. Kwabena Donkor, the president of AGI hinted it is a quarterly activity to present business barometer survey report; adding today marks the 4th quarter report after several decisions have gone into it.

He again revealed that the AGI held a National Council Strategic workshop last week to discuss the role the industries can do to help government to resolve the energy situation in the country; hence the presentation of the communiqué to demonstrate the reaction of the association.
