John Terry's Kids Sleep With Capital One Cup

There was no wild party for John Terry after he lifted his third League Cup in Chelsea colours on Sunday.

The Blues captain instead opted to spend the evening with his family, posting a picture to Instagram of his two children asleep in bed with the Capital One Cup.

Terry had the perfect day at Wembley, scoring Chelsea's opening goal, picking up the man of the match award, and lifting the trophy - the 13th major honour of his professional career.

The 34-year-old Terry, as captain of the west London club, was allowed to take the cup home, and he capped off his day by sharing a picture of his two children Georgie John and Summer Rose asleep with the trophy.

Also in the picture, Terry's son Georgie can be seen with his dad's medal around his neck, as well as a Chelsea shirt.

Alongside the picture was a simple caption reading 'goodnight', but Terry and his Chelsea team-mates will have been wide awake on Monday morning as they look to prepare themselves for battle once more.

With Jose Mourinho's side top of the Barclay's Premier League and in with a good chance of reaching the quarter-finals of the Champions League, Terry hopes Sunday's triumph will be just the start of their success this season.

'This is the first one, it is massive,' Terry told chelseafc.com after the final whistle on Sunday. 'It meant an awful lot to us in 2004-05 in Jose’s first year here and it could be the start of something very good. Now we have to kick on with the League to focus on next but it’s a great day and a great win.

'I’m delighted with my goal and delighted with the team’s performance and lifting the trophy but you have to build on that. You have to set the foundations and we have done that, this is the first one and hopefully we can kick on.

'It is the start of something and we have to win trophies to be up there with some great sides, but we have won our first one now and in 2005 it inspired us and kicked us on and hopefully this will do the same.'
