According to the former New Patriotic Party [NPP’s] General Secretary, Kwadwo Owusu Afriyie, some Ghanaian businessmen he described as ‘jihadists’ have vowed to “behead” all NPP National Executives if they failed to win power come 2016.

Fearing for his life as a past national executive who received the message from the unknown businessmen and comrades, Sir John has charged the party leadership to secure power come 2016 from the ruling National Democratic Congress [2016].

Speaking to OKAY FM’s "Ade Akye Ebia" morning show, Tuesday, Sir John explained that, the businessmen are complaining of hardship and poor economic management by the Mahama NDC-led government, a situation which they believed can be manage by Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo and the NPP.

The former NPP chief scribe however share the same sentiment with Ghanaian businessmen but prayed the NPP wins power to save their heads.

“I went somewhere and met with top Ghanaian businessmen. They warned that, if the NPP don’t win election 2016 they will behead all party leaders including our flagbearer.

"...They complain bitterly how the NDC is destroying their business. Their only hope is the NPP so by which means they want us [NPP] to come to power,” he told OKAY FM's Kwame Nkrumah Tikese.

However, Sir John maintained that “The 2016 battle still remains the Lords…we will do as the people say”.
