Economy In Shambles, Each Ghanaian Owes GHC3000 - Minority Leader

Minority Leader, Osei Kyei-Mensah-Bonsu has stated that every Ghanaian owes a whopping GHC 3000. The figure, he said was arrived at following the division of the countries astronomical debt over the total number of people in the country.

The Minority Leader made this known at a press conference in Parliament to present what he says is the “True State of the Nation” address.

He said the development is an increase from that of last year, which was GHC 2200. Ghana's debt stock, which is GHC 76.1 billion which according to him now stands at 67% of the GDP. The presentation is the New Patriotic Party (NPP) Minority's reaction to the 2015 State of the Nation Address presented on the floor of Parliament on Thursday, 26th February, 2015.

The cedi, he continued has depreciated by 257% within the six years the National Democratic Congress (NDC) has been in government.

Osei Kyei-Mensah-Bonsu said the President 'sprinted from the actual economic figures' because of the gross mismanagement on the part of Government.

Thus to him, the economy is a 'shambolic state'.
