Police Recuitment Scam: We Could Not Believe The Magnitude of Revelations Since Invetigations Commenced - COP Dampare

A few days after the news about the alleged involvement of a high profile police officer in what has become known as the ‘Police recruitment scam’, the Police hierarchy attributed the discovery to the reforms put in place by the police administration.

According to the Inspector General of Police (IGP), Mohammed Ahmed Alhassan, the general reforms put in place by the leadership of the service have strengthened the recruitment processes and procedures, thereby making it rigid to malpractice.

However, COP Dr. George Akufo Dampare, the Director General of Police in-charge of Finance and Patrols in the Ghana Police Service could not believe the magnitude of the revelations since investigations commenced.

“…we did not know the new measures put in place would shake the very foundation of the police service but we must commend the work he(IGP) is doing to for mother Ghana and the Police Service,” he said on NEAT FM.

On his word, the IGP together with the hierarchy of the Service put together nine (9) teams that have been charged to conduct enlistments for the service at the various levels.

Without preempting the outcome of the ongoing investigations, COP Dr. Dampare attributed the discovery to the newly instituted systems, checks and balances, which he believes have proven impervious.

He further entreated the general public to be wary of recruitment fraudster, and report them promptly to the Police for the necessary action.
