Woyome Wants To Blackmail A-G Former Dep. A-G

Deputy Attorney General under the erstwhile Kufuor administration, Lawyer Kwame Osei-Prempeh is of the view that embattled businessman, Alfred Agbesi Woyome is doing everything within his means to blackmail the current Attorney General.

The blackmail, the former Nsuta-Kwamang-Beposo Member of Parliament (MP) said is aimed at causing Mrs. Marietta Brew Oppong-Appiah from discontinuing her appeal at the Supreme Court.

“…I think Woyome out of his frustration wants to blackmail the Attorney General so there is the need for further investigations…,” he said.

The embattled businessman in a letter written to the President and copied to the Chief of Staff, questioned the capability of the Attorney General, Marietta Brew-Oppong, to pursue him for the Gh51 million cedis judgment debt, when she, through her firm Lithur Brew and Co, benefitted from the money.

He claimed the A-G received a cedi equivalent of one million dollars as payment and therefore wondered how she is determined to see through a case she has so much “criminalized” and want him jailed.

But, the Attorney General, Marietta Brew Oppong says she remains unfazed and no amount of pressure from Alfred Woyome will get her to resign her job.

The A-G says she will appeal a court decision to retrieve the Ghc51 million cedis paid to him as judgement debt.

Lawyer Osei Prempeh, however, argues that Alfred Woyome may be doing his best to blackmail the A-G to discontinue her appeal at the Supreme Court.

He further called for investigations into the various claims.
