Nigeria Needs A Dynamic Leadership...Whoever Loses The Elections Should Concede Defeat - Atik Mohammed

It is said that when Nigeria sneezes, everybody including Ghana catches cold. This is to say that whatever happens in Nigeria has a direct consequence on Ghana, her neighbouring country.

Nigerians and Ghanaians have co-existed as brothers and sisters; a reason why many Ghanaians would hope the best for their Nigerian counterparts as they gear towards their Presidential elections, come Saturday March 28, 2015.

Speaking on Peace FM's Morning Show "Kokrokoo", Atik Mohammed of the People's National Convention (PNC) has hoped for peaceful elections in Nigeria this Saturday.

He prayed the clash of titans between the two major parties - People's Democratic Party (PDP) and the Action Congress Party (ACP) - would end up smoothly without any violence.

He further called on defeated party whether in government or not to concede defeat for peace and harmony to keep existing in the country.

“I’m praying very hard that it will go very smoothly and whoever deserves to win should emerge as the winner and the people of Nigeria should move. [The country is] In fact, it is one of the few countries in Africa that is blessed with the potential to become a giant in World affairs. But because their leadership does not go well, Nigeria has become yet another example of underdevelopment.”

According to Atik Mohammed, the Nigerian economy needs a dynamic leadership that can rescue the country from being underdeveloped.

“When we talk of underdeveloped countries, Nigeria comes followed by Ghana but these are countries with a huge potential to become an example like the ancient tigers. We could become the African tigers. But all this boils down to the question of leadership. I’m praying that Nigeria gets the kind of leadership it deserves; the kind of leadership that can transform the Nigerian economy.

“Whoever wins, whoever loses; I am hoping and expecting that the vanquished will humbly accept the defeat granted that the processes they undergo are all valid," he said.
