The former Ghana coach wants to see the likes of Seidu Salifu, Ebenezer Assifuah and Fatawu Dauda starting against the Eagles on Tuesday.

Former Ghana coach Emmanuel Kwesi Afranie has called on coach Avram Grant to field untested and fringe players in Tuesday’s international friendly match against Mali in France.

The Black Stars lost their previous friendly against Senegal 2-1 in Le Havre on Saturday, with the likes of Seidu Salifu and Ebenezer Assifuah sitting on the bench.

Afranie wants the Israeli to include those players and other unused hands in his starting eleven against Mali.

“It is a problem because why do you spend on them - transportation, allowances and so on - only to have them sit on the bench,” Afranie told Accra-based radio station Joy FM.

“We, the Ghana FA technical committee, want to meet the coach and talk to him so he can understand our philosophy and approach. He needs to understand some of these things.

“In the game against Mali I hope he’ll give the other players a chance,” he said.

Twenty-one players took part in Monday’s training session at the Stade Sebastien Charlety in Paris ahead of Tuesday’s encounter, with defender Jonathan Mensah sidelined following an injury sustained in Saturday’s match against Senegal.

The Ghana–Mali match is set for 18H30 GMT.

Both friendly games are meant to observe players who are excelling at their clubs while keeping the entire squad in shape ahead of the 2017 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers.
