Warning! GRAPHIC Dansoman Gas Station Closed Down (Victims)

A combined team of personnel from the Ghana Police and Fire Service have closed down the gas station at Dansoman, near Wesley Grammar School.

They were assisted by personnel from the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) who demanded that the closure takes effect from this evening. An explosion at the station over the weekend led to the death of two people who were admitted at the Korle-Bu Teaching Hospital after sustaining severe injuries.

Residents have been complaining of the location of the Gas station arguing it is too close to their homes.

Ironically, it shares wall with a yet-to-be opened petrol station.

It took some time for the security personnel to carry out the planned closure. “Residents however expressed joy at its closure…,” he added.

He continued that a middle-aged man who identified himself as a brother of the Gas station manager said authorities asked them to close the facility for just two weeks.

The reason for that, the man who pleaded anonymity said was for the increased discussion of the tragic incident in the public domain to die down. “But as at now, the lights have been put off and the gates to the gas station locked signaling the closure…,” he said.
