Whistle Blowers Life In Danger

The life of a whistle blower, who exposed his business partner for faking the loss of his Toyota Camry Saloon Car and succeeded in securing a whopping GH¢31, 000.00 insurance from Quality Insurance Company (QIC), is in danger as there continue to be barrages of threats on his life.

This paper has gathered that Richard Yeboah, whose partner, a Ghanaian-based Canadian businessman, Boahene Sarpong, allegedly set his own Toyota Camry Saloon Car ablaze and succeeded in confusing both the police and his insurance company into paying him huge insurance claims cannot sleep easily after he exposed his partner.

According to information, Boahene Sarpong allegedly hatched a plan after he lied to the QIC with documents he obtained from the Kaneshie Police Station in October 2012, on claims that his car was stolen.

Earlier, insiders say Boahene Sarpong had already convinced Richard Yeboah to send the car to his (Mr. Yeboah) in-laws at a village around Dormaa Ahenkro in the Brong Ahafo-region.
After the car had been sent to the said village, Boahene Sarpong lodged a report at the Kaneshie division of the Ghana Police Service reporting of the missing Toyota Camry with registration number GE 9350-12, and obtained documents which enabled him to receive the insurance claims.

Interestingly, upon his return from Canada, last year, Boahene Sarpong allegedly sneaked to where the car was parked and set it ablaze. But later when the incident was reported to him (Sarpong), he laughed over it.

Snippets of information gathered was that Richard Yeboah, who had granted an interview to the media and revealed all the well-hatched plan by Boahene Sarpong, leading to his arrest is facing threats from Boahene Sarpong, who was asked by the Insurance Company to pay double the amount he fraudulently collected from the company.

The story goes that Richard Yeboah, in the heat of the development revealed that the money Boahene Sarpong took was paid to him in two separate cheques, one at the Ridge Towers Branch of the Fidelity Bank with the face value of GH¢16,000.00 while the other was at the Accra Main Branch of the National Investment Bank Limited with the sum of GH¢15,000.00.

Uncomfortable with Boahene Sarpong's, Mr. Yeboah contacted the insurance company, but was told Mr. Sarpong had already been paid the claims.

After that exposure, the company caused his arrest and was made to pay double the amount he collected as claims and was immediately released without being sent to court.

Since the incident, this paper has gathered, Mr. Yeboah's office has become a home for Boahene Sarpong who storms there at will and threatens to kill him.

So serious is Boahene Sarpong, that once, he allegedly tried to kidnap Mr Yeboah's son into a waiting vehicle, but was stopped by some passers-by.

Mr Yeboah, according to sources is lining in fear for his life and if the police fail to take action to stop Boahene Sarpong he might succeed in killing him.
