Mills' Administration Is Telling Us Lies- Pratt

The recent shortage of fuel in some parts of the country has generated a lot of discussion on radio, television and in the print media. Contributing to one such discussion on Kokrokoo, the managing editor of Insight newspaper, Mr. Kwesi Pratt, who is also a leading member of the CJA said President Mills' administration is hiding the truth behind the fuel shortage in the country. According to him, the government is telling lies because officials and government sectors responsible for the provision of fuel in the country came out with different stories. He cited the explanations offered by the spokesperson for the Energy Commission, Mr. Sarpong, the Public Relations Officer of TOR, Mrs. Aba Lokko and the CEO of the National Petroleum Authority (NPA) Mr. Alex Mould as a clear example of government inconsistencies. Mr. Sarpong told Peace FM last Week that the shortage had come about as a result of a technical problem at TOR and added that the problem had been exacerbated by the failure of some OMCs to honour their commitment to TOR. However Mrs. Lokko and Mr. Mould came out a day later to make a different statement on Peace FM saying it was rather as a result of the governments inability to import crude oil due to unfavourable tides. Mr. Pratt therefore charged the Mills administration to come out and explain the truth of the matter to Ghanaians and stop lying. He stated, The truth must be told, Ghanaians needs to know what is happening
