Lumba Is Not Dead Says Kenpong

Kenpong Group Executive President, Kenedy Agyapong has rubbished wild rumours that highlife legend Daddy Lumba is dead.

Kenpong, a close ally to the musician has described the situation as unfortunate, and has advised that those peddling the falshood to put a stop to it.

He reviewed in an interview shortly after the news broke out that "it's unfortunate people peddle falshood about Lumba. I was with him when calls from all over came through my phone and his wanting to know the truth.

"it is not true that he is dead. Lumba is alive and kicking. Lumba is a true legend who has contributed immensely to the development of Ghanaian music in the country and beyond. They should continue to honour and applaud him instead of pushing him to his grave before his time."

According to Kenpong, Lumba asked him (Kenpong) "why do Ghanaians want me dead before my time?"

Daddy Lumba has been reported dead on numerous occasions.

Eventhough he has been battling with his health, the "Aben Wo Ha" crooner, who has not be in the public’s eye regularly for some time, made a rare appearance at the just gone-by Vodafone Ghana Music Awards held at the Accra International Conference Centre on April 11.

The renowned high-life musician's performance was however way below par; and attributed it to his ill-health.
