Lamudi Ghana updates apps for house-hunting

Online Real Estate Marketplace Lamudi on Friday released an updated version of its popular Android application to make it easier for house-hunters in emerging markets to buy or rent property in Accra.

The Version 2.0 of the application, offered better speed and performance, making it easier to browse through the company’s global catalogue of more than 900,000 property listings using an Android device.



A statement issued in Accra and signed by Mr Fidel Amoah, the Content Manager, Lamudi Ghana, and copied to the Ghana News Agency said, the application has been optimized for devices with lower storage space and its overall size has been reduced, ensuring fast download.



It said contacting agents via email has been simplified, with users’ existing contact details saved for future use.



The statement said the app has a new product detail page and a fresh design for saved searches, which now supports the Android Lollipop operating system and available on iOS.



Mr Kian Moini, the Co-founder and Managing Director of Lamudi, said: “Anyone who works in the real estate business knows just how important mobile has become.”



He said the emerging markets in which they operate, where the smartphone penetration rate was soaring and demand for mobile Internet services was ever increasing.



“This is why we are focusing our efforts on mobile - to ensure Lamudi is delivering a high-quality app that meets the changing demands of house-hunters in emerging countries,” he added.



He said a key feature was the match alerts, which notify users as soon as a property that suits their needs hits the market.



Ms Akua Nyame-Mensah, the Managing Director of Lamudi Ghana said: “We are really excited to be releasing a new version of the app that makes it easier to find your home on the go. The app makes it easier to navigate through Lamudi Ghana’s over 8,000 property listings.”



She said all listings feature high-­quality photo galleries, detailed property information, maps and multiple contact details for property owners or agents.



“House­-hunters can also share their favorite properties with family and friends via Facebook, Twitter or email,” she added.



Lamudi Ghana launched its Android app in June last year and it was available in more than 30 countries in Asia, Africa, the Middle East and Latin America.
