The Upper East Regional Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Mahama Adam is in critical condition at the Bolgatanga hospital after two people poured acid on him.
The incident occured in his house on Wednesday at about 11:30pm.
Mohammed Murtala Ibrahim his vice Chairman told Nana Yaw Kesse, sit-in host of PEACE FM morning show �Kokrokoo� that it is �even difficult to identify him�.
Two assailants stopped his car whilst he was about entering his house midnight on Wednesday and poured the corrosive substance on his face and entire body.�
Asked whether they knew the culprits, he told Nana Yaw Kesse that, "The Chairman saw�them, he saw those two people, he knows them".
However, he denied knowledge of the motive behind the attack and whether the two have any problem with Mahama Adam, the�Upper East Regional Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP).
But according to Murtala Ibrahim, the police have arrested one of the culprits.
