Members of the New Patriotic Party are currently in a state of despair following the deliberate assassination of their Upper East Regional Chairman, Adams Mahama.

The late Adams Mahama gave up the ghost in the early hours of Thursday, 21st May, 2015 after two assailants attacked him with acid.   

Following the unfortunate developments in the party, Sammy Awuku who the National Youth Organizer for the party has cautioned aggrieved members not to worsen the case by initiating retaliation on people they assume wronged them.  

He shares in the pain of the party and in an interview with Oman FM, he reiterated the need for the party leaders to ensure there is peace to avoid the escalation of tension within the NPP.

“We are in this together and in an attempt to save the situation, let us not escalate the already tension in the party”, he warned.

Mr. Awuku urged them to make this sacrifice in the supreme interest of Ghana and the NPP.

He went on to caution party leaders and communicators to be circumspect in what they say about the situation bearing in mind that any negative statements could damage the cooperate image of the New Patriotic Party.
