Sword On The Loose @ Circle (PHOTO)

Thousands of passer-by at the Kwame Nkrumah Circle area embark on their daily activities in a dangerous environment as a man trading in art works and carvings has displayed locally made daggers to his prospective buyers at the expense of the people around.

The sharp swords which were about six have been pulled half from its pocket to show how sharp it is to those who may buy them.

Despite the fact that mentally challenged people mingle with others in the area and any mishap could lead to fatalities, the swords are loosely displayed there without any fear of any angered person taking hold of them.

Gordon Kwasi Yeboah, a mobile phone repairer who spoke to the DAILY HERITAGE, said last month a suspected thief who was given a hot chase on reaching where the swords were displayed pulled one of them and turned against those who were pursuing him, and managed and meandered his way through the densely crowd to bolt.

According to Mr Yeboah people were running from their shops for fear of being hurt by the suspected thief.

“Though after the incident shopkeepers around advised the shop owner to stop displaying the daggers openly to avoid future occurrence of an insane chancing upon the weapon, he has since not stopped,” he added.
