Vote President Obour Out Dada K.D.

Highlife musician Dada Kwaku Duah popularly known as Dada K.D. in the music industry in an exclusive interview with Flex newspaper has asked that Musicians Union of Ghana (MUSIGA) president Bice Osei Kuffuor aka Obuor is voted out in this year’s elections.

Obour is trying his best but I think he is too young for such a position. He is enjoying while his Vice is suffering. There is the need to vote Obour out and bring someone who is more competent to replace him. Obour doesn’t deserve a second chance because he has nothing to offer again. I have been a member of MUSIGA over a decade and I know what I am talking about,” he noted.

Touching on the state of music in Ghana, Dada K.D. said music is dynamic and if dancehall has become a choice now, he doesn’t see anything wrong with that but people shouldn’t say it has over thrown highlife.

“High life is not dead just that the dynamism in music has given chances to other genres. The system is hot, so we need songs from the genre dancehall to release stress. Dancehall is an insane genre of music because we don’t understand it yet we have embraced it. Most Disc jockey’s and presenters think highlife is dead so when you release a highlife song they don’t play it. It doesn’t matter the genre the artiste specializes to become a hit or make his name but as a Ghanaian and an Ashanti, I will always do high life and won’t turn away. We just need a helping hand because most platforms don’t entertain high life especially Ghana meets Naija. They should include the high life artistes,” he said.

The silky – voiced artiste who entered into professional music in the early 1990’s has released over ten albums including Som Gye, Ebe Boa Wo, Obiaa Se Eye, Boom Boom, Odo Mu Anigye among others.
