NHIS Service Providers To Be Paid On Time

The Bawku Mutual Health Insurance Scheme, has told its clients that the capitation service would pay claims of service providers in good time so as to encourage them to deliver quality health services to the people.

Mr David Samari, the Manager of the scheme, therefore, urged the clients to take the new National Health Insurance Scheme (NHIS) Capitation Service seriously, as it was the best way to provide quality health services.

He explained that capitation was a payment method in which a predetermined fixed rate was paid in advance to the provider, to provide a defined set of services for each individual enrolled with the provider for a fixed period of time

Mr Samari made the call during one of the 10 community sensitization durbars in 10 communities in the Bawku Municipality, and its environs, to educate the people on the importance of the service.

He said each durbar recorded not less than 300 participants, including traditional rulers, religious leaders, assembly members, women groups, and the youth..

He explained that the capitation would work alongside with the Ghana Diagnostic related groupings (GDRG), and that services not covered by capitation would be taken care of by it.

Mr Salifu Moro Asaana, Public Relations Officer of the scheme, entreated the participants to register with the service as the benefits were enormous .

He explained that the Primary Preferred Provider (PPP) service which comes with the Capitation package, would allow the client to choose the preferred health provider to access health service, and would at the same give the client the chance to change the provider at will.
