2 Area Thieves Nabbed

Two thieves are in the grips of the Teshie Police Command after being unmasked for stealing from some members of the community in which they live.

The suspected thieves - Adjei Kumah, a mason, 20; and Laryea Wisdom, 19, a labourer - were found out when some robberies in the enclave resulted in a vicinity search.

The Teshie Police Commander, DSP Simon Agbodeka, narrated to The Finder that on June 23, a lecturer at Zenith College (name withheld) who lives around Teshie Okpoi Gonno woke up to find out that thieves had removed some parts of his car, which he had parked in front of his house.

According to him, when the lecturer alerted other members of the community, they decided to conduct a thorough search in the vicinity.

During the search, somebody claimed he had seen one of the two suspects (Kumah) carrying some goods into an uncompleted building where Laryea, another suspect, lived.

According to the eyewitness, he suspected the items were stolen. With that directive in mind, the search party acted on the claims and discovered four cylinders and a generator set.

Kweku Aninyie, who was among the search party, identified the generator as his and stated that it was stolen from him on June 20.

The two suspects were arrested and sent to the Teshie Police Command, where they were interrogated. Kumah claimed the items were for one Donkor who brought it to him for safekeeping.

At the station, two other victims identified the gas cylinders as theirs. The suspects have since been charged and would be arraigned before court.
