Herbert Addo Ready For Kotoko Coaching Job

The caretaker head coach of Kumasi Asante Kotoko F/C, Herbert Addo has declared his readiness to cement his ties with the Club if offered the job. Coach Addo was engaged by the 'Porcupine Warriors' to see them through the round two of the just ended 2008/09 Glo Premier League which he accomplished to the satisfaction of the followers of the Club. He told the GNA Sports in Kumasi that "now that the League is over, I'm anticipating a better deal from management, if they are willing to further engage my services". Coach Addo was contracted to replace Isaac Opeele Boateng soon after the first round of the League, at a time the performance of the Club had become a big worry to its teeming fans and management. After taken over the mantle, the coach managed to turn things positively round and brought back the smiles and encouragement on the faces of the teeming Kotoko supporters that saw the Club in a neck-to-neck race with arch rivals, Accra Hearts of Oak, before the Phobians eventual won the League with a narrow margin. At the time coach Addo took over, Hearts had points' difference of 16 between them and Kotoko but he managed turn things round and close up to the admiration of the followers. Coach Addo attributed the inability of his side to upstage Hearts for the League title to fatigue of the players, explaining that in the last four matches the players had to work above themselves to keep their hopes on course. He described the current Kotoko team as promising and that he has no doubt that given the right attitude, discipline and motivation by the management, the team would do well in the CAF MTN Champions League this year. Coach Addo commended the Interim Management Team (IMT) of Kotoko for their support which he noted helped the team to fight hard to reach where they are now and urged the players and supporters to be committed to Kotoko's cause in future assignments.
