Father Murders Son Over Cocoa Beans

A father has allegedly killed his son in a scuffle over cocoa beans at Agona Nyakrom in the Central Region.

After killing his son, Nana Donor, the accused, shaved his son's private parts and hair and latter dumped the body in the bush.

Seth Donkor, now deceased, was allegedly beaten to death by his father, younger brother and an unknown person all currently on the run.

According to the Police, the relationship between father and son turned sour over the ownership of cocoa farms at the said village.

On July 13, Nana Kwame Donkor, allegedly visited Opentrikwa-Adukrom where a struggle ensued between Seth and his father over the cocoa beans.

Nana allegedly called Ebenezer Donkor, the deceased's younger brother, one Mr Darteng and another person to "come and teach Seth some lesson".

On the same day, all the suspects in the case came to the village in a taxi and beat Seth till he fell unconscious and died.

After he died, the accused persons shaved the hair and pubic areas of Seth, bundled him in the cab and later dumped him at Apuum, a village off the main Agona Nyakrom-Gomoa Afranse road.

On July 14, residents of Apuum informed the police of a dead body that was discovered around their village. During police investigations into the report, it was discovered that Nana had lodged a complaint at the Agona-Nyakrom police station that his son had gone missing.

Nana told the Police that while he was searching for his son, he had a hint that his son's body had been found at Apuum.

Police intelligence, however, revealed that Nana is one of the perpetrators responsible for the murder of Seth.

He has been arrested and placed in police custody while efforts are in place to get the other accused persons arrested.
