Security Services Not Recruiting Now � Gov�t Warns

The Ministry of Interior has announced that the security agencies in the country are currently not recruiting.

 
According to the Ministry, there are reports that the Security Agencies under the Ministry namely: the Ghana Police Service, Ghana National Fire Service, Ghana Immigration Service, Ghana Prisons Service are recruiting personnel for various positions.
 
 
A statement signed by Deputy Minister of Interior, James Agalga, insisted that “there is no recruitment being conducted by the Agencies under the Ministry.”
“The General public, is hereby, advised to be wary of any person or group of persons claiming to recruit into the security services. Any such person or group of person should be reported to the nearest Police Station,” the statement added.
 
The Ghana Police service has in recent times been hit with a number of recruitment scams.
 
The service in June recorded another recruitment scam involving a number of young men and women hit the Ghana Police service last week.
 
Over 500 people were given recruitment letters after allegedly paying between GHC1,500 to GHC2,500 and asked to report at the training depots last Friday.
The Police have since arrested three men for their alleged involvement in the scam.
 
A similar enlistment scam that hit the service earlier in 2015.
 
Some officials of the Police Service were later implicated in the scam including the Service’s Director-General in-charge of Human Resource, COP Patrick Timbilla.
