"Smoking Gun" For Mahama Overthrow

Following the ongoing internecine turf war among leadership of the New Patriotic Party, and having now realized the unattractiveness of the party and its flag bearer to the electorate ahead of 2016 elections, friends of the opposition NPP in the leadership of the various labor unions across the country have upped their ante as reported by The al-hAJJ sometime back, with the sole purpose of crippling the Mahama-led National Democratic Congress government.

Further worsening their plight is also the fact that the John Mahama government’s improved performance in all sectors of the economy, is slowly but steadily diminishing the chances of their darling party, the NPP, annexing power next year, and as a last resort, these political appendages masquerading as leaders of labor unions, this paper’s investigations have revealed, have resolved to intensify their various unconscionable industrial actions (legal or otherwise) to eclipse the gains government has made so far for a possible overthrow of the John Mahama administration without the firing of a single bullet.

These union leaders wearing political garments are said to be of the belief that their diabolical agenda would ultimately make the government unpopular and incur the wrath of the generality of people which will then culminate into popular insurrection, The aL-hAJJ has gathered.

Proponents of this despicable but well-rehearsed scheme who are in cahoots with the opposition NPP, are reported to be within the leadership of the Ghana Medical Association, University Teachers Association of Ghana, Judicial Staff Association of Ghana, Teachers and Educational Workers Union of Ghana, National Association of Graduate Teachers, Ghana National Association of Teachers, Government Pharmacists, Trades Union Congress, Nurses and Midwives, Mental Nurses, State Attorneys, Civil and Local Government Staff Association of Ghana among others.

This paper’s investigations show that, what most of these opposition elements parading as leadership of the various workers unions dread seeing is the third humiliation and possibly, last chance of their “president-in-waiting”, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo pursuing his childhood dream of getting the keys to the flag bearer, to become president.

And in an effort to augment the NPP’s claim that the NDC government is callous and unfit to govern, these "nemeses'' of the state have resolved to paralyze government machinery in the coming days over flimsy reasoning.

Aside the lack of appeal for Akufo Addo and the NPP, what is said to have ignited passion among these pseudo-politicians-turned union leaders to intensify this diabolic plot, The aL-hAJJ has gathered, is government's successful halting of the hitherto fast depreciating cedi, the steady reduction in the price of petroleum products, the gradual ending of the intractable dumsor and the across the country scattered development projects nearing completion among others.

Sources say kingpins of the opposition NPP are reeling in pain; government’s successful handling of some of the challenges that have plagued the country under President John Mahama and are of the view that, this could close the door on their bid to recapture power in 2016.

Indeed, there are reports that the commencement of construction of the 200 community day senior high schools by the Mahama administration and government's plans to roll out constitutionally required fee-free paying senior high school later this year, have stripped-off Nana Akufo Addo and the NPP of a major campaign tool, hence the need to turn to unconventional means to kick out the Mahama government.

This latest strategy to use labor unions to create disaffection for government, The aL-hAJJ's intelligence has unearth, was also occasioned by the opposition NPP’s earlier unsuccessful attempts to use sections of the media, civil society groups and political pressure groups to pin down the Mahama government on charges of pervasive corruption, sleaze and maladministration.

To consolidate the NPP’s latest plot, The aL-hAJJ can today report that in the coming days more labour unions in government institutions led by pro-NPP apologists, would also begin to flex muscles with threats to embark on one form of industrial action hoping of paralyzing government machinery which could possibly lead to an Arab spring style of revolt.

However, the paper is informed that the presidency and security agencies are not oblivious of these plots for which reason President Mahama, knowing what agitations in the labor front could get to, recently remarked “a dead goat fears no knife.”
