National Youth Organizer for the Progressive People's Party, Divine Nkrumah has expressed disgust at the "pampering" of medical doctors by the government.

Speaking on "Kokrokoo" on Peace FM, Divine Nkrumah stated that medical doctors in the country have overly been pampered by governments; a reason why they are holding the country to ransom.

According to him, the institution that enjoys the most basic necessities of life apart from government officials in the country are doctors.

This, he noted, is why the doctors seem to threaten the country with strikes resulting in the deaths of several patients.

“I’ve done my research and know that we are over-pampering doctors. The respect that Ghanaians have for the doctors, I plead with them to also think about Ghanaians and consider all Ghanaians. When you remove the entire public sector workers (the various institutions) and search for the institution that benefits from the basic necessities of life apart from people in government; it’s doctors." 

He further wondered what would happen to the country should farmers also decide to go on strike.

To him, should farmers toll the line of the striking medical doctors; the economy will completely collapse because it cannot survive without agriculture.
