Dan Botwe Doesnt Need A "Campaign Manager" Position To Work... - Aide

Emmanuel Attafuah Danso, Special Aide to the NPP Member of Parliament for Okre Constituency, Hon Dan Kweku Botwe says his boss is not interested in the Campaign Manager position before working hard for the opposition party to win the 2016 election.

According to him, those raising tension in the party and putting pressure to bear on the flagbearer, Nana Akufo-Addo to appoint a Campaign Manager from the list of names published in the Wednesday August 12, edition of the Daily Guide newspaper are not helping the party.

The Accra-based daily reported that the NPP Flagbearer, Nana Akufo-Addo is likely to pick one of the foolowing; Peter Mac Manu, former national chairman of the party and former national vice chairman, Stephen Ayesu Ntim, as his Campaign Manager.

Other persons that have come up for consideration, according to the newspaper, are the former General Secretary, Dan Kwaku Botwe, who spearheaded two electoral victories and incumbent NPP National Organizer, John Boadu.

Speaking on behalf of his boss [Dan Botwe] on Okay Fm’s Ade Akye Abia Morning Show, Attafuah Danso said the Okre MP declared as far back as March 2015 that “he is not in contention with anybody over the campaign manager job and he still stands by it”.

He emphasized that “Hon. Dan Botwe does not need a title to work hard for the party and besides the persons who have been cited as possible campaign leaders are individuals that he has very good working relationship with….it is the work which is important and not the title”.

"...he (Dan) is not thrilled with the hype given to the announcement of a campaign manager for the 2016 elections, making it look as if the position should be lobbied for," he added.

He indicated there is a constitution which guides the New Patriotic Party [NPP] on the processes and procedures for Nana Akufo-Addo as flagbearer to appoint his campaign manager in consultation with the leadership of the party and that people must respect that in order not to stampede it.

He went to say that “Hon. Dan Botwe actually wants to help the party in capacity building; the human resource development which is the key work that needs attention in order to train the polling agents from the center to the national level to monitor and assess the polls during elections in 2016”.
