THE INTERNATIONAL Health Care Volunteers, a non-governmental organization made up of health personnel from the United States of America (USA) has donated assorted items including educational materials to the Human Service Trust Orphanage in Cape Coast.
The healthcare volunteer programme, an initiative by three medical doctors namely Dr James Aikin, Dr Mrs Ayers Aikin and Charletta has 34 members in Ghana with 20 of them being in Cape Coast providing healthcare education among other services.
As part of the donation, the volunteers educated the children of the home on personal hygiene, health and exercise and play therapy among others.
The leader of the team, Dr Ayers Aikin hoped the education would make an impact on their development.
The Executive Director of Human Service Trust, Mrs. Nancy Akorful thanked the volunteers for the kind gesture and promised to use the items judiciously.
