120 Golfers To Vie For Heritage Classic Trophy

All is set for this year's Heritage Classic Invitational Golf Championship scheduled for the Celebrity Golf Course at Sakumono, near Tema on Saturday, August 22. The event, which is being played in memory of the late Mr Justice Charles Edward Henley Coussey, a former Supreme Court judge, would be sponsored by Wish Bone Incorporated of the United Kingdom. Mr Pierre Coussey, Captain of the Celebrity Golf Club told GNA Sports at Tema on Thursday, that the competition was also meant to raise funds to support the New Horizon School in Accra. He said about 120 golfers are expected to participate in the one-day 18-Hole Medal Play event which has Handicap 17 and 20 respectively as the entry requirements. Some of the Golfers expected to be seen in action would include Akwasi Opoku, vice captain, Joe Ampofo, Oswald Amuzu, Ernesat Kumi and Francis Quartey, all of the Celebrity Golf Club. Briggette Harrington, Lady Captain of the Club would lead the Ladies team which would include Aileen Conteh, Mary Asafo-Adjaye and Mona Myles-Lamptey. Five prizes would be awarded in the Men's category while three would be given out in the Ladies segment.
