A private Labour Expert, Mr. Yiadom Boakye has described as an unprincipled approach by management of TV3 Network to drop its long serving newscaster off air.

TV3 Network has officially taken award winning broadcaster, Nana Aba Anamoah “Off Air” for alleged ‘photo theft’ and social media deception specifically on twitter.

The announcement of Nana Aba’s partial suspension was made public with a statement going viral of social media.

The statement read – “After preliminary investigations internally, and in accordance with TV3’s own commitment to the highest level of professionalism, Management has decided to take Nana Aba Anamoah off air until further notice.”

“As a broadcast network that prides itself in upholding high ethical standards and delivering credible and trustworthy content to its viewers, TV3 would like to assure viewers and other key stakeholders that it shall continue to take all necessary steps to maintain such standards,” the statement noted.

“We expect guardians of our brand particularly employees who we entrust to deliver content on air to our viewers, to ascribe to the company’s values whatever they are. TV3 is committed to deliver on its promise of being the First in News and Best in Entertainment,” the statement added. 

However, Mr. Yiadom Boakye on NEAT FM’s morning show 'Ghana Montie' unequivocally opined that management of TV3 Network goofed with their “unnecessary” approach to make public Nana Aba’s suspension on TV – “That is not right”.

The labour expert however maintained that even though the management of TV3 erred, their ‘take off air’ action on their employee was suitable.

“The action TV3 took was fair. She [Nana Aba] is the face of TV3 and the public ridicule against her also affects the station. They should have handle the issue internally rather than making it public. In every institution, there are rules and laws. TV3 perhaps acted based on their rules,” he told host Kwasi Aboagye.
