Asamoah Gyan Steps Up Recovery, Out Of Ghanas Friendly Against Canada

Ghana striker Asamoah Gyan has resumed light training as he steps up his recovery from his latest injury setback. The 29-year-old suffered a hamstring injury on September 12 while in action for his club Shanghai SIPG. Gyan has since been receiving treatment on the sidelines but has now stepped up his recovery with his return to light training. The former Al Ain ace is however not fit enough to join the Black Stars for their international friendly with Canada later this month. Coaches at Shanghai SIPG are hoping Gyan makes a full recovery in time to play the final games in the Chinese Super League. Shanghai SIPG are currently just two points behind leaders and defending champions Guangzhou Evergrande with three games to the end of the season.
