Don't Lose Faith In The Judiciary - Father Campbell Urges Ghanaians

Parish Priest of the Christ the King Catholic Church in Accra, Reverend Father Andrew Campbell has encouraged Ghanaians to still have faith in the Judiciary as the Chief Justice is attempting to get rid of corruption in the judicial service.

He said the proportion of judges who were indicted in the video for allegedly taking bribes could not be a yardstick to conclude that Ghana's judicial system had been compromised.

In an interview on Citi FM, Father Campbell said, “I went to see Anas’ video and I was saddened by it, the people that we all had confidence in, and we looked up to in every way...[but] we have over 400 judges and only 22 have done it”.

Father Campbell said he still had confidence in the judiciary and in the Chief Justice and he was of the belief that Ghana would recover from the damages the scandal had caused.

He advised the general public to use the misfortune as a wake up call and stressed on the fact that standing for the truth, speaking the truth and living the truth should be on the heart of all Ghanaians.
