The local contingent of the Black Stars led by management committee chairman George Afriyie arrived safely in Washington D.C in the United States this morning ahead of Ghana’s game against Canada on Tuesday.

Goalkeeper Fatau Dauda who was the only local based player to make the trip and deputy coach Maxwell Konadu were all part of the team which arrived in Washington.

Black Stars Coach Avram Grant was already in the United States after a scouting trip. Players like Harrison Afful who plays in the MLS, Afriyie Acquah, Razak Braimah, Phil Ofosu-Ayeh and Albert Adomah all arrived in camp early this morning.

The team has been allowed by head Coach Avram Grant to rest this morning because of the long journey from their bases in Europe and Africa. They are expected to take to the pitch around 3:00 pm U.S time for shake up.
