Pentecost University College Launches Its 10th Anniversary

Pentecost University College [PUC] has launched its 10th Anniversary at the school main campus in Accra – the anniversary is to celebrate the successes chalked by the school.

Dubbed – “A Decade of Excellence”, PUC aim is to crop men and women to be responsible in society to the glory of God.

The Church of Pentecost, under the chairmanship of Apostle Dr. Michael Kwabena Ntumy, took a bold and visionary decision to establish the great University College, by upgrading it from the Pentecost Bible College.

The College was inaugurated on May 22, 2003, by Ex-President John Agyekum Kufuor, during the Church's 34th Session of the General Council meeting – but admitted its first batch of 171 students in the 2004/2005 academic year for the Evening and Regular schools.

Speaking at the launch, the Vice Rector and Dean of Graduate School, Prof. Kwame Boasiako Omane-Antwi opined that - PUC has in its fold highly qualified and dedicated lecturers who are devoted to churning out highly committed graduates for the Ghanaian and international job market.

“It is worth mentioning here that faculty members of PUC have jointly researched and published a book titled ‘Comparative Case Study in Developed and developing Countries’ with faculty from Saginaw Valley State University, USA.

“…The book is an internationally acclaimed IGI Global Science Book and a premiere reference source in Family Business. The said internationally acclaimed book would be officially launched in the USA on 18th November 2015 and PUC will be represented by two (2) of our young researchers namely: Mrs. Lydia Andoh-Quainoo and Mr. Seth Appiah Kubi.” He proudly said

As part of the 10th Anniversary Celebrations, some corporate social responsibility projects have been outlined for the Sowutuom community [the school main campus].

“The 1 kilometer stretch of road christened “University Road” linking the Sowutuom Main Street and PUC campus was rehabilitated in June this year. It will be followed with a Medical Outreach on the 17th and 24th of October and the commissioning of 2 (two) mechanized bore-hole projects December, 2015. These projects are estimated to cost GHC 300,000.00”

“There will also be health walk, blood donation, medical outreach, clean up exercise, public lecture 1 /2, fundraising dinner and alumni homecoming / musical concert, graduation and thanksgiving service” he lamented

Prof. Kwame Boasiako Omane-Antwi however maintained that - “The future of Pentecost University is bright. Long Live PUC, Long Live Ghana.”
